Baroque gilded frame

We proudly present to you the latest acquisition of our antique shop – a baroque frame large dimensions (175 cm x 125 cm), ideal for a mirror that would give your interior the luxurious and imposing character of former aristocratic chambers.

The frame is decorated with richly elaborated motifs, with many details, executed in high relief. The decorative composition consists of acanthus leaves, which in a vivid spiral movement envelop all the surfaces of the frame, combined with intertwined leafy twigs and four flowers with richly modeled petals in the corners. Such dynamically shaped ornamentation with a distinct tendency towards a realistic depiction of motifs is characteristic of the spirit of the Baroque style.

The frame has been restored in a highly professional manner, using traditional techniques and materials, by an academically trained restorer, with real gold leaf used for gilding. This restored the item to its old shine and authentic appearance from the time it was created.
